python-numpydoc software package provides Sphinx extension to support docstrings in Numpy format, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-numpydoc
python-numpydoc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-numpydoc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-numpydoc *
You will get with python-numpydoc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
